Make a difference

The Helmsman Project has big ambitions to positively impact the lives of thousands of young people in Australia. To achieve this, we need your help.

The Helmsman Project exists because we believe every young person should have the opportunity and support to achieve their full potential. Sadly, Australia currently ranks in the bottom third of OECD countries when it comes to 15-19 year olds who are employed or in education1.

Young people from disadvantaged communities are twice as likely to be unemployed, 2.5 times more likely to have poor health outcomes and nearly three times more likely to be imprisoned2. Without help, many of these young people can get caught in a vicious cycle of disadvantage.

If we don’t address the root cause of these issues today, they will continue to negatively impact our communities in the future. The Helmsman Project is committed to reaching out to these young people and giving them the life skills they need to build better communities and a brighter future.
